Dr. Mervin Smucker (Ph.D.) – Biography

Dr. Mervin Smucker (Ph.D.), extensively educated and trained in the field of cognitive behavioural therapy, is internationally recognized as an expert in trauma. He attained a Bachelor’s Degree at Antioch College, where he majored in philosophy and foreign languages. During his bachelor’s work, Mervin R. Smucker spent studying at institutions in Europe, which included the University of Brussels, University of Tübingen, the Goethe Institut as well as language schools in Grenoble and Besançon. After receiving his B.A. in 1975, he attended Millersville University in Pennsylvania where he received his Master’s Degree in 1978. Mervin R. Smucker then pursued his doctoral studies at The Pennsylvania State University, where he completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1982..
